The Food Cupboard is an all volunteer, ecumenical 501-3C non-profit, located at 611 Maine Street, South Portland, in the basement of St. John the Evangelist Church.

Our telephone is 207-874-0379

We are open every Thursday morning from 8:30AM to 11:30 AM. We have an application process, utilizing the Federal income guidelines, wherein we determine the percentage of Income and level of need. Individuals and families who qualify can access the Food Cupboard once a month.

Clients choose from a listing of the available food items that we have, thereby receiving only the foods they will eat. We share a weeks worth of food with up to four members in the family.
