The Rotary Club of South Portland - Cape Elizabeth "Experiment in International Living" Scholarship Ambassador, Dieter Reinartz, from Puebla, Mexico, arrived July 3. Members of the club hosted Dieter for two week periods.

Governor Kenneth Curtis was our speaker on August 29.

District Governor James G. Martin of Old Town visited the Club on September 12.

Five Past Presidents and four former members of the Rotary Club of Portland from our Club attended "Rohais Roberts Day" on November 9 at the Rotary Club of Portland. Rohais had been
Secretary of their club for many years and had left to get married.

The Annual Senior Citizen Christmas Party was held on December 19. Frank Farwell and his German Band was the entertainment for the evening.

The Christmas Tree Sales showed a profit of $2,000.

Bill Lewis, our Vice President, was transferred to Massachusetts and Dan Mooers was appointed to fill this office for the remainder of the Rotary year.

Second Annual Management Seminar was held at the Shawmut Inn, Kennebunk, on March 24. Diplomas were awarded by Robert Masterton, President of Maine Savings Bank.

On May 1, after our meal we proceeded to the newly opened South Portland Boys' Club for a tour of the facility.

The Annual Joint Service Club meeting was held at the Stagecoach Inn in South Portland on May 22. The Oceanaires Barbershop Quartet provided entertainment.

Our Club sponsored Cub Pack 1130 in Cape Elizabeth.

On Sunday, May 19, the Rotary Club of Lewiston - Auburn held a Testimonial Dinner for their Secretary - Treasurer and Past District Governor Harry Rowe. Over 200 people gathered at the Ramada Inn in Lewiston to honor his fifty years of Rotary Service. Senator Edmund Muskie, Justice Frank Coffin and John Donovan were the main speakers.

Forty seven sons and daughters attended the meeting on May 29, and enjoyed the magic of Ralph Greenwood.

The annual Guy Lombardo dance was held of Friday, June 7, at the Portland Exposition Building. Profit was $2,637.

Bill Lewis, our former Vice President, is now a member of the Rotary Club of Wakefield, Massachusetts.

The District Conference was held at the University of Maine at Orono and President Sam Giftos was elected Treasurer of District 779.
