Paul Johnson served the Department for 20 years as Regional Biologist for the Moosehead region. He has since retired but remains active among Maine's natural resources service providers and protectors. After retiring, Paul was instrumental in the formation of the Maine Woods Forever organization based in Greenville, Me. which is dedicated to protecting the legacy of Maine's forests and woodlands. MWF also documented the Thoreau - Abanaki Trail and annually organizes the Thoreau - Abanaki Trail Festival in Greenville.
