
SpringFest is dedicated to elevating the art of having fun while bringing everyone together to get involved in the community and encourage connections between more people and cultures. Participation is free to everyone. It's a partnership between South Portland - Cape Elizabeth Rotary and the City of South Portland and generously supported by Bath Savings Bank, Hannaford, DiMillos On the Water, Port Harbor Marine, Gorham Savings Bank, M&T Bank, Bangor Savings Bank, Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution, and more than thirty area businesses.
100% of event proceeds benefit area non-profit agencies and organizations focused on food security, community building, senior citizen projects, youth services, behavioral health, veterans needs, safe and stable housing, and community service projects.

- Reading Gnomes
Mid-April through SpringFest
The Reading Gnomes program is multi-dimensional, including reading, crafts, activities, storywalks, and is organized in conjunction with and hosted by the South Portland and Cape Elizabeth Public Libraries and the Cape Mother’s Kindness group. Details will be released soon!
- Gnome-Week Discovery Search
May 12 to 19
For all ages, search for and discover gnomes hidden at local businesses. During the week leading up to SpringFest, participants will search for the gnomes and document their discovery using the EVENTZEE smartphone APP. Prizes will be awarded in various categories at SpringFest ’23.
Pre-registration is required to receive clues. To pre-register, download EVENTZEE for Apple or Android.

Gnomes @ Knight Street Party in Thomas Knight Park
Friday, May 19, 7 p.m. start
Whimsical, fun and safe evening street festival with games, crafts, live marching band, DJ, dancing, and food trucks.
SpringFest in Mill Creek Park
Saturday, May 20, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Gnome Home Village Community Art Project
Together, let's construct the "World's Largest Gnome Village." In the weeks leading up to SpringFest '23, build kits will be available at various locations throughout the city and onsite the day of the festival. In addition, to using the materials provided, natural materials found in the backyard or the woods will be encouraged. The Village will be created in the park's Ocean Street/Broadway corner. Prizes will be awarded for creativity and originality.
- Gnome Gazebo Entertainment
Welcome remarks at 11:00 am followed by a KindKids Music Concert. COAST 93.1 radio (https://coast931.com/) will be broadcasting on-site from the Gazebo from 12:00-2:00
- Best-in-Gnome CornHole Tournament
2-person team single elimination Cornhole tournament – prizes for multiple age groups.
The SCOREHOLIO smartphone APP will be used for registration and scoring

Activities for children including face painting, Score-O, Touch-a-Truck, gnome drawing table, Gnome StoryWalk, Gnome photo booth, Sports Mascots, Touch-a-Truck and free hot dogs & popcorn.

Come visit an array of Gnome-themed craft vendors who will be selling their gnome-themed creations!

- Gnome Eats and Treats (Food trucks!)
Bring the neighborhood! Enjoy Gnome-trEATS from a variety of local food trucks including Meet On The Street, Mainely Burgers, Mainely Treats & Falafel Mafia.
- GnomeSport Junior Celtics Academy
May 20, 9:00-12:30, at the SP Community Center
South Portland Community Center is hosting a FREE youth basketball clinic led by the Junior Celtics, the official youth basketball platform of the 17-Time World Champion Boston Celtics, and the Maine Celtics! The clinics teach the game of basketball in a fun, professional and energetic manner.
